North Park 2010 Players Selected for USA Hockey Development Main Camp

North Park 2010 players Matthew Cernan and Gavin Pasic were selected for the USA Hockey Development Camp after several rounds of tryouts at the Regional and District level with over 600 total players competing for spots. Matthew was chosen for the New York State Development Main Camp in Oswego, NY and Gavin was chosen for the Atlantic District Main Camp in West Chester, PA. Both players stood out with Gavin (wearing North Park pants) scoring 2 goals and adding an assist, while Matthew posted a shutout in one of the games he played during the duration of the camp. The Main camps consist of approximately 80 total selected players (meaning they are identified as one of the top goalies and top players in NY State and the Atlantic district, respectively). USA Hockey uses these camps as a way to identify players who are ultimately chosen for the US National Team Development Program (USNTDP) at 18U (the top 20 players in the country - many of whom are drafted to the NHL and represent USA at the World Championships)

The 2010 North Park birth year was an extremely talented class of players, with the Peewee season culminating in a runner-up finish in the NY State Hockey Championship. The selection of our two players for the USA Hockey Camps is further validation of the overall goals and basis for the NYC Hockey Club, North Park and NYC Skyliners pyramid of development.
